US Energy
Low energy taxes in America have created a way of life dependent on high volume energy use. When Stern Magazine commissioned George to photograph this story, he chose to do a largely aerial reportage. From the sky you can see the patterns of suburban housing that depend on cheap fuel, the massive mines and power plants, and the scale of various energy consuming activities. George visited ten states to create an aerial mosaic of the world’s largest energy consumer.
