View of the village and church of Chatani on the north shore of Salar de Uyuni. This photo was taken after summer rains had flooded the edge of the Salar when the route from the salt flats to the village is marked by a stack of tires. Behind Chatani on the slope of Volcan Tunupa are fields that have not been used for approximately 100 years due to a decrease in rainfall.
