Rotating solar panels being installed as an expansion of 200MW solar power field of Elion Resources, on the dunes of the Kubuqi Desert on the south side of the Yellow River Basin. The dunes were leveled and are now irrigated to support fields of licorice bushes. The field contains 800,000 panels (costing 1500 yuan each). The installation started in Sept. 2015 and plans are to build it out 5 times larger.

Elion Resources has been making extensive economic developments in the Kubuqi Desert, just south of the Yellow River, primarily by revegetating the sands, but also putting solar power, fertilizer factories, and other developments.
