Aerial view of Li River downstream from Guilin. Photo taken from Cao Ping to Xing Ping. The river is a major tourist destination in China, famous for the landscape of eroded limestone pinnacles, a geological formation known as karst. The river traffic here is primarily boats carrying Chinese tourists, and the agriculture along the banks of the river is predominantly a mixture of rice, citrus, and vegetables for domestic consumption.
