Views of dry lake some 10 km east of Umm al-Maa in the Ubari sand sea. The lakes here are fed by natural springs, but have slowly been drying up as the water table has dropped, presumably due to generally increasing aridity and the increased level of pumping groundwater for agricultural use in Wadi al-Hayat (Valley of Life) located 13 km to the south.
