The Peruvian anchoveta is the world's largest fishery by weight. It is primarily harvested for fish meal and oil, which are critical components of feed for aquaculture, pig, and chicken farms throughout the world.

The factory in the foreground is CopeInca, formerly owned by China Fisheries Group but now for sale in bankruptcy proceedings. They have the largest fishing quota of any company operating in Peruvian waters.
