Abdulai Galiou working in his father's garden in Chirfa. The garden is watered by a 5m deep well, and the water is brought up by a traditional fulcrum weight, or "guadara" in Toubou language. He grows corn, millet, meal, tomatoes, and zucchini for his family, and also for sale to visitors.
