Dianshanhu Garden apartments are buildings the goverment built for "displaced" farmers around the Dianshanhu Lake region just outside of Shanghai. Each family receives two or three apartments as compensation, or they can choose to receive money in lieu of apartments. They either move into the tall apartment buildings, rent it out, or sell them, which most people do because this is an ideal school district and apartments are very popular.
