Al Hajarayn clings to a hillside overlooking the dry riverbed of Wadi Do'an. Noted for its nomadic beekeepers and their swarms, this area yields some of the world’s finest honey, used as an antibiotic and aphrodisiac. Twenty miles north lies Al Rubat, the ancestral village of the bin Laden clan.
