He has date palms, fruit trees, and vegetables (including beans, scallions, and peppers, among others). His garden is strictly for his pleasure and consumption by his family. The village water supply comes from a natural spring but is augmented by drilled wells, as the Saouara river only flows for a few months each winter, if at all.
