Boys playing with toys made out of clay in Burgilo Payam (village) on a rainy afternoon early in the wet season. Most of the adult men are in the cattle camp some 12 km west of here, and the village is occupied by women, children, and the elderly. The people here are of the Pari tribe who once lived at the base of Lafon hill, but during the war the village was re-established some 9 km north, as the hill became a base for Northern Sudanese forces and was heavily mined. The main crop here is sorghum.
