Nesting behavior of James's flamingos on a low muddy islet in the center of Laguna Colorada. Of an estimated world population of 50,000 James's flamingos some 30,000 nest here. This has been an unusually wet nesting season and our Bolivian park ranger Diego Berna estimated that perhaps only 50% of the normal amount of chicks would survive due to cold wet weather and nest flooding.
