Village elder entering through the passageway from the village square to the schoolyard of Ayparavi Village on the morning of the 37th anniversary of the founding of the village. There are only some 150 people in Ayparavi.
Events of the morning included: procession of village band of native woodwinds and bass drum, cooking a breakfast for the entire village, breakfast for the band (with carcass of sheep hanging overhead), parade of local school children, serving breakfast of tea and locally baked bread, and local Chipaya officials getting drunk on beer in the administrative offices.
