A warming climate with longer summers and increased rainfall favors the wild grasses that provide hay for cattle and has benefited some dairy farmers in the high Alps. Tomas Comploi (above, in blue T-shirt) near Seceda in the Italian Alps, is growing twice as much hay as he did as a boy.
