Plantation workers loading just harvested clusters of palm nuts onto a tractor-pulled wagon and then into a transport bin on Wilmar's Sapi plantation for palm oil.
Wilmar is said to be the largest palm oil and vegetable oil trader in the world. The Sapi plant was started in 1989 and has 6,000 hectares of land. Palm oil is a very productive crop, with 6 tons of oil per hectare (soy is only 1 ton per hectare).
