Carnaval parade in Oruro, said to be the second largest in Latin America (after Rio de Janeiro) and is the biggest cultural event in Bolivia with some 30,000 costumed dancers and musicians marching 2 miles through the town of Oruro, ending up at the church of Socabon (the miner's virgin). Some 300,000 spectators come to watch from all over Bolivia. The parade began at 8:00 AM and continued without stop until 3:00 AM. This carnaval parade is a tradition stretching back over 200 years.
