Sunrise finds a young girl peering from a goat-hair tent in a camp of Khamseh nomads with large flocks of fat-tailed sheep. They spend their summers in Zagros Mountains and the winters in its Southern foothills and valleys, earning much-needed money as laborers harvesting crops while grazing their flock on the stubble. They have about 100 sheep per family and make most of their income from selling sheep and wool. They are said to be Arab nomads, and their language was a mix of Arabic and Farsi. Khamseh women dress quite colorfully, like gypsies, but men dress more plainly.
