Cattle camp some 15 km east of the Moldovan oil camp at Akir (just near the junctions between Duk Fadiat, Akir, & Ayod), in the "toich" flood plains on the east side of the Sudd, a couple of hours drive west of Duk Fadiat. The people here speak a dialect of the Dinka language that is a transition to Nuer language that is spoken just north of here.
The cows come back to the camp about an hour before sunset, and are pegged down with neck halters, and fires are stoked with dried cattle dung to keep the flies away. The ash of the cow dung is smeared on the skin of the people to keep mosquitos from biting.
