Bedouin family living in the hills above Sweimeh on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea. They had no rain last year and are struggling to get enough water and fodder for their herd of 600+ goats. Most able-bodied men have gone to seek paid employment, as low paying jobs are their only alternative to tending their livestock. The camp was only occupied by old people, and young women with infants.
Seen here in sunset light is the patriarch of the clan, sipping tea as part of traditional hospitality to guests.
