Umm al Maa lake in the Ubari Sand Sea. The lakes here are fed by natural springs, but they have slowly been drying up as the water table has dropped, presumably due to generally increasing aridity and the increased level of pumping ground water for agricultural use in Wadi al Hayat to the south.
