This family-run turkey farm in Clayton County, Iowa has been raising female turkeys from purchased chicks for 25 years. Their 18,000 birds are fed a mixture of corn and soybean meal and average 2.2 kilograms of feed for each kilogram of weight gain. They grow from chick to fully grown 11-kilogram bird in 18 weeks. Here they are being sprayed with disinfectant to prevent disease.
