The rear deck of C/P Alaska Ocean bringing in a 65-ton catch of Pacific whiting some 30 miles off the coast of Oregon. In an average year, the boat takes in 6,500 tons of Pacific whiting, and 63,000 tons of pollock, most of which is consumed as fillets or breaded fish sticks. Measuring 114m long, the C/P Alaska Ocean is the largest fishing/processing boat in the U.S., with a complete filleting and freezing factory below the main deck.
