Farlete, Aragon, Spain. Terraces of dry-land wheat fields have transformed the arid valleys of the Sierra de Alcumbierre in northern Spain. Agriculture is heavily subsidized in Western Europe, where over 40% of the EU budget goes to support small-scale farmers and sustain rural communities.
