An abandoned passenger barge with no propeller, engine, or wheelhouse, is now used as makeshift housing and storage on the west shore of Lake Nasser. The boat was stranded near Amada temple, 2/3 of the way from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The temple was relocated to higher ground by UNESCO when the flooding from the Aswan High Dam inundated the area. The site is now occupied by a few caretakers and local fishermen.
