Sunrise after a night of fishing with cantilevered nets for shrimp on the waterfront of Kochi, India. The fishermen spend the night on their small platforms perched in the shallow seawater. They lift the counterweighted net a few times per hour to remove their catch, before lowering the net and throwing in more coconut shells to attract the small crustaceans. This night of fishing brought in 5kg of shrimp, which will fetch about $7 in the local market.
