Canadian, TX. Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Most of the cattle that are fattened in the feedyards around Amarillo are raised on grass on small scale ranches. Seen here are the native grasses that are ideal for cattle, as seen on the ranch of Adam and Aubrie Isaacs near Canadian TX. I was told by Paul Defoor, the COO of Cactus Feeders, that grass-fed cattle have more greenhouse gas emissions than feedlot cattle that are fed a corn-based diet, due to the ruminant digestive process.
