Jumeirah Islands, a housing development in Dubai, was completed in 2006 by the same developer as the Palm Jumeirah offshore. The development consists of 50 small circular clusters, each with 16 residential villas and swimming pools in an artificial lake filled with seawater. It is dotted with fountains to aerate the lagoons and prevent them from becoming stagnant.
