Plantation workers show up for morning muster at sunrise on Wilmar's Sapi plantation for palm oil. Approximately 90% of workers are Indonesian, and the men do all the cutting and harvesting, while the women fertilize the trees, or spray defoliant and pesticides. The sprayers are required to wear masks, gloves, rubber boots, plastic aprons, plus goggles and breathing mask.
