Women in Ounianga Serir struggle to get back to their huts in a mid-morning sandstorm. People here live far from the lakes to avoid their swarms of gnats & mosquitoes. Most able-bodied men are elsewhere this time of year, trying to earn money, and return only to visit & help with the date crop.
