Big horn sheep at Tinajas Altas water hole at the end of the dry season. These desert big horn sheep rarely drink, as they have adapted to get most of the moisture they need from plants. But at the end of the dry season, with midday temperatures well over 40°C and all the vegetation dry, they will come to a rare water hole like this every two to three days to drink. These wild sheep are extremely wary of humans, and this photo was taken with a camera triggered remotely from a blind.
