Lençois Maranhenses National Park, a coastal dune field in Brazil, that is flooded with freshwater lakes during the rainy season. In the dry season, strong winds mobilize the barchan dunes and, combined with the equatorial sun, evaporate the lakes and prevent permanent vegetation from taking root. Barreirinhas, Brazil.
